Dollhouse Wallpaper Tutorial

Here is a quick little tutorial on how we installed our dollhouse wallpaper!

Wallpaper is super simple and makes the cutest addition to each room. We have 3 of the 4 rooms wallpapered. It adds a fun focal point and really makes a boring room pop.

Supplies Needed:

  • Scrapbook Paper or Vinyl Sheets

  • Adhesive Spray

  • Scizzors

  • Hot Glue Gun & Glue

  • Optional- Wood Trim

Step 1:

Measure and cut paper to fit the size of the wall you are going to cover. Take into account any windows that you will need to cut a hole out for. I would install the window after the wallpaper so the window covers any imperfections.

If you need to use two pieces of paper to cover a wall put the larger piece on top of the smaller piece so they are overlapping. Also, put the smaller piece towards the back so that you cannot see the line as much. On this wall, we used two pieces and you can't even see the line where we had to use two pieces of paper overlapping.

Make sure your paper lines up well on the wall before you move on to gluing it on.

Step 2:

Use the Spray Adhesive and Hot Glue to attach the paper you cut onto the wall. We mostly put the hot glue around the edged of the paper and the Spray Adhesive everywhere else.

Step 3:

Make sure there are NO bubbles! Press everything so that it is flat and press out all bubbles you might find.

You could even use a credit card to make sure it adheres to the wall and to get all the bubbles out of it.

Step 4:

Cap off the wallpaper with some sort of wood trim or wood piece. In the kitchen, you can see we just used a wood piece to look like a wooden beam that we stained. In the playroom, we used wood trim that we painted white to cap it off. This is optional but we think that it made it look complete and a little more professional. We just used hot glue to put it on. Make sure it is glued super well so that it doesn't tear the wallpaper off!

We found the wood trim and wood pieces at Lowes. I will include photos below!

Here is what we used to paint and stain the pieces.

All Done!

Now your wall should be all done! It's a super simple thing to do to make the rooms really fun. It also gives a focal point to your rooms as well.
